Time once more for Friday High Five hosted by Angela.
Five Rare Words That I Have Never Used Before
balnearii – People who steal clothing from public baths.
bathysiderodromophobia – The fear of subways.
ventripotent – Having a fat belly, or being a glutton.
yaud – A worn out or old horse.
zenzizenzizenzic – A number raised to the eighth power.
i haven’t ever used any of those words, either, although i do actually have experience with all of them!
Now I can tell people that my belly isn’t fat, it is ventripotent (that sounds much more important;)
I love your choice of words and am curious how many people have had to steal clothes from a public bath before a word was created to describe their action.
Hmmm, I’m not entirely convinced those words exist. You sure you didn’t just make them up?? I’ve never heard them before! 🙂
Google is your friend. As are the Online Dictionary and the Legal Dictionary. So yes, all these words are real.
I wasn’t seriously doubting you – only kidding around. I obviously need to expand my vocabulary.
The trick now is to incorporate those words into conversations today.
Unfortunately, I feel that ventripotent might have some meaning around this house!
I am ventripontent… but this word rocks big time -“bathysiderodromophobia”
That zenzen word certainly explains part of the reason why I hate math.
